Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dock Hand to join the Marina team at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. The Dock Hand plays a vital role in maintaining marina safety, cleanliness, and high-quality customer service for all marina users. Reporting to the Berthing Master or Marina Operations Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to a secure and welcoming marina environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the marina.
• Regularly patrol marina arms to verify the security of all customers’ vessels.
• Identify and eliminate any hazards within the marina that could risk people or property.
• Assist guests with docking and undocking procedures in berths.
• Deliver prompt and professional service to members and visitors.
• Carry out all tasks in alignment with marina policies.
• Manage effective refuse and recycling services for customers.
• Support berth allocation for both temporary and permanent customers.
• Assist in towing boats to and from the marina without causing damage.
• Provide rescue, salvage, and fire-fighting support alongside waterfront staff.
• Offer trolley services to customers, ensuring trolleys are clean and operational.
• Conduct frequent inspections of safety equipment to guarantee functionality in emergencies.
• Oversee fuel bowser operations safely and accurately.
• Aid the administration team with fuel billing processes.

Required Experience and Skills

• Previous work experience in a similar capacity within luxury properties or marina environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, paired with excellent problem-solving skills and a professional demeanor.
• Fundamental understanding of dock operations and marine safety protocols.
• Competent in the safe use of hand tools and basic dock equipment.
