Why You’ll Want to Join
Join a growing organization that puts people and relationships first. The company is built around the values of trust, loyalty, courage, humility, and excellence, with a long-term vision to expand steadily and create opportunities for employees while making a meaningful impact on many lives.
Role Overview
The Division Controller will act as the finance lead for the division and report directly to the Executive Controller/CFO. This is a high-visibility leadership position in the Dallas, TX office that supports a business centered on services, projects, and maintenance, with several cost centers and significant job costing complexity. The role is ideal for a self-driven professional who works well independently and across departments. You will initially oversee two direct reports and serve as the connection point between divisional operations and the executive office. As the company grows, this position offers a real pathway to take on broader leadership within the finance team. The team is expected to grow and develop with you through ongoing feedback, clear goals, and tailored development plans. Although the role is based on-site, some travel will be needed to support divisional priorities and protect financial accuracy across the expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the executive team to deliver accurate divisional financial performance reporting and keep results aligned with company-wide financial objectives.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide clear analysis of divisional results.
- Supervise, coach, and develop two direct reports while building a strong accounting team culture.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, with special focus on real-time job costing, labor efficiency monitoring, margin analysis, and direct oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities in line with GAAP.
- Design and maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures that safeguard assets and improve workflow efficiency.
- Serve as the main contact for annual audits and help ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements.
- Partner with the Division President, sales, and operations teams to support budgeting and forecasting, and provide variance analysis that helps leaders make informed operational decisions.
- Own or significantly support ERP processes tied to job costing, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and month-end close, while recommending system and process improvements as the division expands.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, along with 3 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience in a multi-entity environment. Prior experience in managing, mentoring, or developing team members is important. A CPA or CMA is strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills and practical experience with modern ERP platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, or Sage Intacct are expected. You should also have strong analytical ability, the confidence to turn complex financial information into practical action, and excellent communication skills for working with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
