Job description

About Ever

Ever is pioneering the future of automotive retail as the first AI-native platform focused on electric vehicles (EVs). We are building a $100 billion+ business nationwide, combining cutting-edge AI-driven operations with comprehensive auto retail services both online and offline. Based in San Francisco and growing rapidly with $100 million in capital raised, Ever's leadership comes from top tech and automotive firms including Tesla, Uber, and Carvana.

Role Overview

As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for overseeing revenue performance across all current markets. This senior leadership position manages the entire sales and business development center (BDC) functions—from initial customer engagement through contract closing and vehicle delivery. You will establish standards to drive customer engagement, conversion, and retention at scale, and collaborate closely with executive leadership to develop the sales organization’s playbook supporting nationwide expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and manage monthly sales goals including volume, conversion rates, and margins.
  • Optimize full sales funnel performance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews on weekly, monthly, and quarterly bases for regional and market teams.
  • Develop pricing strategies and closing protocols to maintain profitability while maximizing sales.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align inventory, pricing, and merchandising strategies.
  • Lead the BDC operations: design staffing, set response SLAs, optimize lead routing, and improve appointment setting rates.
  • Maintain comprehensive lead management playbooks and ensure CRM data accuracy and hygiene.
  • Plan capacity and resource allocation for sales development as the organization grows.
  • Champion customer experience from initial inquiry through delivery, setting and enforcing service standards.
  • Implement processes to address customer issues post-delivery, including warranty and service concerns.
  • Work with the Business Office to ensure smooth titling and registration processes across transaction types.
  • Utilize NPS, reviews, and cancellation metrics to monitor customer satisfaction trends.
  • Recruit and develop leaders and team members within sales and BDC teams, fostering growth and retention.
  • Implement structured performance management including goal-setting, coaching, improvement plans, and promotions.
  • Oversee sales training programs covering product knowledge, process compliance, and EV industry expertise.
  • Create career advancement frameworks to retain high-performing staff.
  • Manage CRM setup and adoption to support sales operations.
  • Partner with program and operations managers to scale sales processes to new markets rapidly.
  • Design and enforce sales reporting standards for accurate measurement and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to eliminate obstacles in purchasing and delivery cycles.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 8 years of progressive leadership experience in automotive sales, preferably with EV experience.
  • Proven management of multi-market sales teams selling 200+ units per month.
  • Expertise running BDC functions, including staffing models, response SLAs, lead management, and CRM operations.
  • Success in designing and scaling customer delivery and experience initiatives.
  • Strong CRM proficiency, leveraging data analytics for coaching and operational decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic startup settings by building scalable business infrastructure while executing growth strategies.
  • Experienced in recruiting and mentoring sales managers and teams.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $170,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to volume, conversion, and customer satisfaction achievements.
  • Equity participation opportunities.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Remote or hybrid work model requiring approximately 50% travel to current and emerging markets.
