About the Role
Mohinani Group, through its business unit Masco Foods, is seeking a Development Projects Coordinator to manage and lead the complete lifecycle of new construction, remodeling, relocations, and small-scale projects within its hospitality and quick-service restaurant (QSR) portfolio in Ghana. This position requires close coordination between design teams, engineering, procurement, contractors, landlords, regulatory authorities, and internal operations to ensure timely, budget-compliant, safe, and quality project delivery meeting KFC/Yum! brand and Masco Foods standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own comprehensive project plans including scope, schedules, critical milestones, and risk management registers from inception to project closeout.
- Conduct weekly site meetings with contractors and stakeholders, documenting minutes and action points, and maintaining forward-looking project timelines.
- Manage regulatory approvals such as planning permissions, fire and environmental permits, and coordinate with landlords for consent.
- Interpret and annotate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings while coordinating input from consulting engineers.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and perform quantity take-offs accurately.
- Control drawing versions, manage submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and maintain as-built documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with QSR brand standards addressing kitchen workflow, drive-thru lanes, kiosks, cold room specifications, and mechanical/electrical load requirements.
- Coordinate tender processes by preparing comprehensive tender packages, overseeing competitive bids, analyzing proposals, and recommending preferred suppliers.
- Negotiate and issue work orders or letters of award aligned with contract frameworks such as FIDIC or NEC.
- Manage procurement of long-lead items including kitchen equipment, HVAC, signage, power generators, IT/POS systems, and cold chain infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance and control plans, method statements, inspection and test plans, and material approvals.
- Monitor construction progress for workmanship quality and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Oversee variation and change order management, assuring transparent cost and schedule tracking.
- Develop and manage detailed project budgets, track expenditures, and provide accurate final cost forecasts (Estimates at Completion).
- Produce weekly project dashboards covering progress, risks, HSE status, costs, and schedules, alongside monthly executive summaries.
- Lead value engineering initiatives maintaining safety, quality, and brand integrity.
- Collaborate with landlords, regulatory bodies, utilities providers, community stakeholders, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project handover and operational launches.
- Ensure compliance to Ghanaian construction codes and Yum!/brand guidelines and prepare thorough handover packages including operation and maintenance manuals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or Building Technology strongly oriented towards civil engineering.
- Professional accreditation with Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), Pr. Eng, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- At least 5 to 8 years of experience managing multi-site hospitality, QSR, or retail rollout projects, including new builds and refurbishments in active environments.
- Proficient with architectural, structural, and MEP drawing interpretation, BOQ preparation, and tender documentation.
- Proven track record coordinating various contractors, consultants, and suppliers under strict deadlines.
- Technical expertise in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of Revit or Building Information Modeling (BIM) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with contract documentation and administration under frameworks like FIDIC and NEC, plus health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance and quality control standards.
- Experienced with MS Project or similar project management software, Excel-based cost tracking, and document control systems.
- Specific understanding of QSR build requirements including kitchen MEP loads, grease management systems, cold storage chains, ventilation, and hygiene-compliant finishes.
- Thorough knowledge of Ghana’s permitting processes, fire service, EPA regulations, and municipal planning requirements.
- Valid driver’s license with readiness for extensive travel within Ghana and neighboring countries.
- Strong English language skills with basic French beneficial for regional communication.

- Targets include delivering ≥95% of projects on or ahead of schedule with cost variances controlled within 3-5%, zero critical defects at handover, excellent HSE performance, and complete project documentation within ten working days of practical completion.
- Positive feedback from operations and brand teams after project openings.
