Role Overview
The Business Intelligence Developer will be tasked with interpreting organizational data needs, documenting those requirements, and designing, developing, and maintaining analytics and reporting solutions accordingly. Responsibilities include data modeling, integration, and management of reporting processes aligned with business objectives. The role involves independently managing projects from start to finish, ensuring that the solutions delivered are efficient, accurate, and comply with specifications. This position reports to the Developer, Business Intelligence within the IT Department.
Key Duties
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from varied sources into the Snowflake database, also assisting BI Analysts and various departments in data integration activities.
- Interpret and translate well-defined technical requirements into data warehouse, database, and BI system architectures.
- Develop, maintain, test, and review code for queries, scripts, stored procedures, database objects, indexes, triggers, and related components.
- Utilize advanced SQL performance tuning skills to analyze execution plans, detect query inefficiencies, implement enhancements, and document solution performance metrics.
- Develop use cases and actively contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in cooperation with teammates and stakeholders.
- Identify, document, and address issues throughout development and testing phases promptly and effectively.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
- At least five years’ experience focused on data warehousing and ETL development, with expertise in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes and Python programming.
- Comprehensive understanding of data modeling concepts, query optimization, data accessibility, and the design and deployment of ETL and data quality mechanisms.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GIT, Jenkins, and Sonar.
- Deep knowledge of database management, including data transfer methods, user and role administration, privileges, schema and object handling, and session supervision.
