Design Manager

Introduction

Zawaya Albina Engineering Consultancy is searching for an experienced Design Manager specialized in multidisciplinary coordination covering architectural, structural, MEP, and related engineering design aspects across projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire design workflow starting from conceptual stages to detailed designs and construction documentation.
• Lead and organize in-house multidisciplinary design teams alongside external consultants.
• Ensure designs adhere strictly to project specs, Saudi Building Code, regulatory authorities, and industry standards.
• Review submitted design outputs, identify coordination challenges, and guarantee prompt issue resolution.
• Track design timelines, allocate resources, evaluate risks, and maintain high-quality design standards.
• Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, contractors, and government bodies.
• Facilitate technical meetings, design evaluation sessions, and value engineering initiatives.
• Champion BIM implementation and ensure seamless design integration among all disciplines.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering disciplines.
• A minimum of twelve years’ substantive experience managing multidisciplinary design within engineering consultancies.
• Demonstrated expertise overseeing complex building and development projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of design phases, authority mandates, and Saudi Building Code enforcement.
• Excellent leadership qualities complemented by effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM coordination platforms, and project management software.
• Professional registration with Saudi Council of Engineers is advantageous.
• Availability to join immediately is preferable.
