Job description

Role Summary

This position is responsible for leading and overseeing a team that delivers Cyber Threat Intelligence services to enhance the security of the Telecommunications and Media sectors, supporting the nation’s cybersecurity goals aligned with IMDA’s vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to a team conducting research and analysis on emerging and pertinent cybersecurity threats affecting Telecommunications and Media sectors, including assessments of threat impact on these sectors.
  • Analyze attack methodologies, vulnerabilities, exploits, detection rules, and signatures such as Yara and Snort, and develop recommendations for detection and prevention of related threats.
  • Ensure timely production and distribution of regular and ad-hoc threat intelligence reports to critical stakeholders, including issuing advisories or alerts to operators following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee Security Engineers to confirm that systems and technologies deployed support operational needs while conforming to IT standards.
  • Drive strategies and planning efforts to develop and maintain Incident/Alert management systems and Threat Intelligence Platforms integrated with intelligence sources to enable comprehensive sector-wide synthesis, dissemination, and response.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Academic background in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering disciplines.
  • At least ten years of professional experience in enterprise cybersecurity incident investigation, digital forensics, or cyber threat intelligence, including leadership of relevant teams.
  • Proven track record in preparing and delivering threat briefing presentations to senior management, operational teams, and customers in information security and technology domains.
  • Experience in publishing research related to cyber threats, campaigns, or vulnerability exploits.
  • Expertise in telecommunications, broadcast, media equipment, technologies, and enterprise environments.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as GIAC GCFA, GREM, GCFE, GCIH, or CREST certifications CCTIM, CRTIA, CPTIA.
  • Skilled in the deployment and management of Threat Intelligence Platforms.
  • Strong analytical abilities combined with a passion for overcoming complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and influencing capabilities.
