About Kā te Rama Switched On Group
For over 40 years, Kā te Rama Switched On Group has worked to enhance living environments for whānau, businesses, and communities throughout Aotearoa. As a key Maintenance Partner on the Te Mahi Ngātahi contract, Switched On Housing collaborates with Kāinga Ora to ensure homes are safe, warm, dry, and comfortable. Our teams operate from regions spanning Tairāwhiti-Gisborne to Waitaha-Canterbury, delivering essential maintenance, repairs, and improvements daily while focusing on positive outcomes for customers, communities, and team members.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Delivery Supervisor to join our Palmerston North team on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027. This pivotal hands-on role involves taking full responsibility for residential maintenance projects, from initial scoping to project completion. You will engage closely with Kāinga Ora, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to guarantee work is executed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and scope maintenance and repair tasks across Kāinga Ora properties.
- Manage and oversee subcontractors and tradespeople throughout project execution.
- Supervise site activities ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections and officially approve completed tasks.
- Consistently enforce Health & Safety protocols on site.
- Keep precise records, documentation, and manage invoicing processes.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers, Kāinga Ora representatives, subcontractors, and internal colleagues.
- Support achieving contract performance metrics and positive customer outcomes.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in supervising, coordinating, or performing residential maintenance, construction, or trade-related work.
- Excellent multitasking abilities to manage numerous jobs and conflicting priorities effectively.
- Adept at practical problem-solving and capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients, contractors, and internal partners.
- Highly organized with sharp problem-solving aptitude.
- Dedicated to delivering quality workmanship and exemplary customer service.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements relevant to construction and maintenance environments.
