Role summary
To support ongoing expansion across Saudi Arabia, DataVolt is hiring Data Centre Technicians for multiple mission-critical projects. The role is suited to experienced professionals from electrical, medium voltage, HVAC, mechanical cooling, controls, and BMS backgrounds who can help maintain reliable operations in critical environments.
Key responsibilities
- Keep core data centre systems running reliably by operating, observing, and maintaining critical infrastructure to maximise uptime.
- Perform planned and corrective maintenance on electrical, HVAC, cooling, BMS, controls, and medium voltage systems according to your technical background.
- Track equipment status through BMS, DCIM, and plant monitoring tools, and act promptly on alarms or operational abnormalities.
- Complete routine inspections, meter/equipment readings, and operational walkdowns throughout the facility.
- Identify faults, investigate equipment issues, and assist in restoring critical systems safely.
- Support emergency actions, shutdowns, start-ups, and incident recovery in line with approved procedures.
- Follow Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out, and health and safety requirements without exception.
- Keep maintenance logs, shift records, and CMMS work orders accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and contractors during maintenance and project activities.
- Assist with commissioning, testing, and operational-readiness work for new facilities.
- Work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties as needed.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in mission-critical settings such as data centres, power generation, utilities, oil & gas, telecommunications, hospitals, or similar facilities.
- A technical qualification, diploma, or trade certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, BMS, Controls, Medium Voltage, or a related field.
- Hands-on exposure to critical systems such as UPS, generators, switchgear, medium voltage equipment, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, cooling plants, BMS, or DCIM platforms.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe isolation practices.
- Practical experience using CMMS systems and maintaining complete maintenance documentation.
- Working knowledge of PTW, LOTO, and health and safety procedures in industrial or critical environments.
- Ability to handle a rotating 24/7 shift pattern and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior data centre experience is preferred, but strong experience in other critical facilities is also acceptable.
- Relevant certifications such as CDCTP, First Aid, HSE, LOTO, or OEM training are considered an advantage.
