Overview
Mott MacDonald is hiring a Data Analyst in Auckland, New Zealand to join its expanding Digital team. The role is centered on converting data into clear, useful insights that support smarter decisions for clients and project teams.
You will work across a wide mix of infrastructure, environmental, and engineering projects, contributing to data-led outcomes while partnering with specialists across New Zealand and the wider global business.
Key responsibilities
- Examine, interpret, and check datasets to surface trends, irregularities, and areas where performance can be improved.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visual summaries that help with project delivery and client results.
- Support process automation, workflow improvements, and other data-related efficiencies.
- Carry out data quality reviews, calibration work, calculations, and reporting tasks.
- Partner with project teams to understand their needs and produce accurate, high-quality analytical outputs.
- Help deliver projects against agreed budgets, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Assist in stakeholder coordination and develop strong working relationships across the organisation.
- Keep documentation accurate and follow established information management and quality procedures.
What we're looking for
- A tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a similar field.
- Hands-on experience working with complex datasets and drawing meaningful conclusions from them.
- Strong capability with Excel, Power BI, SQL, or comparable reporting and analytics tools.
- Well-developed problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Clear written and spoken communication.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively as part of project teams.
- A self-driven attitude and willingness to keep learning and improving.
