About the Role
ATCO Electric Yukon is seeking a Customer Service Advisor for a 2-year term position based in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Reporting to the Program Manager, Renewables and Grid Modernization, you will be the initial point of contact for residential, commercial, and rural customers within the service area. The role involves managing inquiries, service requests, and concerns to provide timely, tailored, and professional assistance while fostering strong customer relationships and enhancing ATCO's community reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with customers via in-person, phone, and email to resolve billing inquiries, process service requests, and update account statuses such as new connections or disconnections.
- Continuously monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions to ensure fair and timely resolutions.
- Collaborate closely with customers, social service agencies, government partners, and Yukon First Nations to exchange information and address service-related issues.
- Coordinate field service activities and manage work orders leveraging the billing system for streamlined operations.
- Handle payment processing, prepare financial deposits, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Maintain and update electronic records, track essential data, and assist with reporting and analysis duties.
- Pursue opportunities to gain new technical skills and broaden knowledge of the utility sector.
Candidate Profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Between one to three years of progressive office administration experience in a computerized work setting.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Oracle software platforms.
- Demonstrated accuracy in computer data entry, keyboarding, and calculator use.
- Experience with cash handling and familiarity with cash balancing procedures.
- Basic understanding of company policies and operational protocols.
- Adept at prioritizing and managing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to delivering exemplary customer service both face-to-face and via telephone.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and problem-solving abilities when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capable of managing confrontations and defusing emotionally charged situations tactfully.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality concerning customer information.
Compensation and Benefits
- A starting salary of $2859.20 bi-weekly.
- Access to flexible benefits from day one of employment.
- An additional 5.2% northern allowance included.
- A monthly northern allowance of $680.
