Role Overview
The Courier is responsible for the pickup and delivery of customer packages according to daily schedules. This role requires problem-solving on the road and maintaining package tracking through scanning procedures.
Workplace Details
- Location: 225 Heather Drive, Dryden, ON P8N 3G2
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours
- Shift: Variable based on operational needs requiring open availability
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Pay Rate: $22.18 per hour in accordance with the collective agreement
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver packages to meet daily schedules
- Scan packages and mail at receipt, delivery, or return to the depot
- Collaborate with Dispatch and customers to resolve on-route issues
- Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after trips utilizing electronic tools for recording
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma completion
- Completion of relevant vocational training
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- A minimum of three years driving experience with a clean driver’s record
Required Skills
- Experience in domestic shipping
- Knowledge of courier service operations
- Competency in shipping and receiving processes
Additional Details
- No language requirements for this position
- Reports to the Unit Manager
- Working conditions primarily on the road
