Role Overview

The Consulting Manager position within Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) involves leading engagements that service clients such as issuers, acquirers, and merchants across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. This role focuses on enhancing portfolio growth and profitability for clients in banking and payments sectors.

VCA combines expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data, and broader business areas to deliver impactful and commercially beneficial outcomes. The Manager will guide problem definition, delivery, stakeholder management, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage consulting projects from initial problem formulation through to the delivery of polished, client-ready outputs.
  • Lead client interactions by organizing and facilitating workshops, interviews, and discussions with senior stakeholders.
  • Interpret complex analyses and insights into clear, actionable recommendations that meet client goals and enhance measurable performance.
  • Ensure high-quality, well-structured deliverables with strong narratives and executive communication.
  • Prepare project materials such as workshop agendas, interview guides, data requests, and consulting models.
  • Mentor junior team members by providing daily guidance and encouraging both autonomy and excellence in delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of consulting practices through intellectual property creation, standardized solutions, and thought leadership.
  • Maintain a minimum of three days per week working onsite, per Hiring Manager's directives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in consulting, banking, financial services, or payments, with progressive responsibility in leading client projects and teams.
  • Strong research, analytical, workshop facilitation, process enhancement, solution assessment, stakeholder management, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical aptitude to integrate information from diverse sources into high-quality outputs.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subject matter experts, and dispersed teams.
  • Competent project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with collaboration and analysis platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, data visualization, or workflow tools.
