Role Overview
The component repair team at SAESL’s Seletar Facility (SSF) seeks motivated, detail-focused individuals to join as component repair technicians. The SSF is a next-generation repair cell equipped with advanced automation and digital platforms to support innovative repair services for next-generation aero gas turbine engines.

Key Responsibilities
- Undergo training to master new machinery and operational processes
- Verify operational readiness of machines, utilities, and safety systems
- Conduct trials, validations, and functional assessments of equipment
- Provide support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Validate health, safety, and environment (HSE) controls and ergonomic standards
- Prepare for audits and maintain workplace organization via 5S principles
- Develop training materials for onboarding new employees
- Execute initial live repairs collaboratively with engineering teams
- Perform all work strictly following approved overhaul manuals, OEM instructions, and quality standards
- Commit to continuous skill development and quality workmanship
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of workstations and work areas
- Accurately record daily labor hours
- Strictly comply with safety protocols and procedures
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment for all repair tasks
- Exhibit disciplined work conduct and uphold company standards
- Proactively engage in continuous improvement initiatives
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors or team leads
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in machining, welding, aerospace manufacturing, or mechanical engineering
- Valid welding certifications relevant to aerospace sector (e.g., AWS D17.1, EN 1418) for GTAW/TIG welding on nickel alloys, titanium, and stainless steels
- Certification in CNC programming and operation of 5-axis machining (preferred software: Mastercam, Siemens NX)
- Experience with localized heat treatment processes such as induction, resistance, or blanket heating
- 4 to 6 years of practical experience in aircraft engine case repair within MRO or OEM overhaul environments
- Expertise in precision TIG/GTAW welding including crack and damage repairs, weld buildup, and post-weld heat treatment coordination
- Competence in 5-axis CNC machining for complex case features including contour milling, drilling, boring, and thread repair
- Application of localized stress-relief heat treatment and temperature monitoring per OEM procedures
- Installation and precise torquing of accessories on engine cases with correct application of lockwiring, sealing, and anti-fretting materials
- Ability to independently assess repaired parts for serviceability according to overhaul documents and engineering guidelines
- Current Level II NDT certification (NAS 410, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, EN 4179) across five key testing methods: PT, MT, ET, UT, RT
- Knowledge of multi-step engine cleaning processes including degreasing, descaling, neutralization, and passivation
- Familiarity with engine case materials such as titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and their typical defects
- Experience working in lean manufacturing, single-piece flow, or multi-skilled technician environments
- Skillful use of precision measuring instruments such as CMM, Faro arm, height gauges, air gauges, and thread gauges
- Adept at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, repair schemes, and OEM manuals from major engine manufacturers
- Knowledge of quality systems including Nadcap and AS9100
- Exposure to automated or robotic welding technologies
- Experience or knowledge in laser cladding or cold spray repair techniques
Minimum education
Diploma / ITI / Vocational
