Role Overview
This Financial Accountant role has been newly established to support the General Manager by managing back costing, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and cashflow forecasting. Initial focus will be on fine-tuning cost allocation and offshore procurement processes, followed by attention to reporting, analysis, and enhancing cost efficiencies across operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct back costing and analyze cost variances for active projects.
- Ensure precise allocation of project costs to appropriate cost codes.
- Oversee end-to-end management of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Refine and improve offshore procurement and accounts payable procedures in collaboration with the Philippines team.
- Maintain and update cashflow forecasting and reporting activities.
- Assist with month-end financial reporting and coordinate with external accounting partners.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving measures throughout the business.
- Engage in commercial and subcontractor administration as the role evolves.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in accounting within construction, civil engineering, or trade sectors is essential.
- Experience handling payment claims is highly valued.
- Proficiency in Excel is required; experience with Procore and Xero is advantageous.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA are welcomed but not mandatory.
- A strong commercial mindset with acute attention to costs and margins.
- Self-motivated with emotional intelligence and a proactive, hands-on work style.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, rapidly growing business environment.
