Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the Constituency Office in managing community volunteers effectively. The incumbent will oversee the establishment, growth, and integration of Ground Roots Organisations at the constituency level, fostering social harmony and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to identify meaningful volunteer opportunities and interests, facilitating volunteer involvement across various platforms.
- Collaborate with the Constituency Office team to expand and nurture individual volunteers and community networks within the division.
- Empower community volunteers as ambassadors to advance People’s Association objectives related to public engagement and government-community relations.
- Coordinate matching of volunteers with appropriate projects and partners, sharing exemplary practices across stakeholders.
- Advance marketing efforts for the volunteer scheme by increasing public awareness and securing support from local grassroots leaders and stakeholders.
- Manage communications with external partners to exchange content on publicity platforms and maintain a comprehensive archive of volunteer stories and materials.
- Maintain an updated calendar of local programs to support overall volunteer marketing strategies.
- Identify and coordinate relevant training opportunities for staff, grassroots leaders, and volunteers through internal and external collaborations.
- Administer allocation and deployment of volunteer-related resources, ensuring adherence to financial controls and organizational procedures.
- Oversee data capturing and provide regular reporting on volunteer participation and management outcomes.
Candidate Profile
- Displays strong interest or experience in community work and local affairs.
- Possesses keen awareness of current events and national policies with regular engagement in community news.
- Demonstrates proficient written English skills; familiarity with Mandarin, Malay or Tamil languages with oral and proofreading capabilities.
- Active user of social media, enjoys networking and collaboration.
- Motivated team player capable of working collaboratively.
Additional Information
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a structured interview process conducted by the People’s Association. Successful appointees will receive a three-year contract and will be assigned to a Constituency Office or Community Centre.
