Position Overview and Responsibilities
This role oversees the daily operations of Pharmacy Clinical Services at Olympia Fields Hospital, including management of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and formulary updates. Working closely with the Director, the Coordinator develops and implements clinical pharmacy services, directs Pharmacy Specialists and Residents, and provides leadership and development opportunities within the pharmacy team.
The position requires delivering consultative services and direct patient care. This encompasses assessing patients and their medication requirements, initiating or modifying pharmacotherapy, and monitoring ongoing pharmacotherapeutic outcomes in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Patient care responsibilities cover a wide range of areas such as General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Peri-operative services, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must hold a current Registered Pharmacist License within the state.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy is mandatory; a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred.
- At least three years of prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Proficiency with hospital pharmacy computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing software, and related databases is expected.
- Completion of postgraduate year-one (PGY-1) clinical training or over three years of relevant experience is necessary.
- Postgraduate year-two (PGY-2) clinical training is desirable.
- Board certification in a Pharmacy Specialties clinical field is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time, day-shift role at Olympia Fields Hospital offers an estimated compensation range between $58.40 to $78.60 per hour, factoring in wages and benefits. The exact salary will be based on the candidate's skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
