Описание работы
Overview
Future Optek is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its leadership team and work directly with the CEO. This position may be offered on a full-time or part-time basis and involves a dynamic, hands-on role evolving alongside the company's strategic direction. The COO will oversee a broad spectrum of operational responsibilities, balancing daily execution with shaping long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the CEO for daily or near-daily coordination depending on role commitment.
- Operate independently while proactively advancing initiatives and identifying priorities or opportunities without direct assignment.
- Manage company priorities and share accountability for non-technical operational activities.
Desired Background and Expertise
- Expertise in defense procurement processes such as Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs), Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs), Testing & Evaluation activities, and SBIR/STTR programs.
- Military experience or deep familiarity with firearms and defense operations.
- Insight into Army, Marine Corps, or Navy ground operations to inform user needs, usability, interface design, concept of operations (CONOPS), and product feature development.
- Established network within the defense sector and comfort with drafting quad charts, white papers, capability statements, and other defense communications.
- Capacity to independently produce CONOPS-oriented documents, technical white papers, SBIR/STTR submissions, capability statements, or succinct briefing materials once acquainted with company technology.
Additional Qualifications
Although primarily a business leadership role, candidates with backgrounds in engineering or technical domains—especially those familiar with software, hardware, or complex system architectures—will have a significant advantage. Technical literacy will facilitate better understanding of product capabilities, identification of new applications, strategic decision-making, and alignment with technical teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal COO thrives in a multifaceted leadership environment typical of early-stage companies, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and a close partnership with the CEO to drive execution and strategic priorities.
Application Details
Applicants should submit a resume or CV along with a brief statement explaining their alignment with Future Optek and the COO role. A formal cover letter is not required.
