About the Role

The Chemical Process Manager position involves leading and supervising various chemical manufacturing stages with an emphasis on stability, efficiency, and compliance. The role focuses on balancing precise chemical engineering techniques with the demands of high-volume production, ensuring printed circuit boards (PCBs) meet stringent quality standards while maintaining a safe and sustainable manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize chemical bath parameters such as pH, concentration, temperature, and dwell times across processes including desmear, electroless and electrolytic plating, inner and outer layer etching, solder mask application and development, and surface finishing.
  • Investigate production defects like plating voids, over-etching, and adhesion failures to implement corrective root-cause actions aimed at reducing scrap rates and improving yield.
  • Supervise laboratory operations including accurate titrations, Hull Cell testing, and Atomic Absorption spectroscopy analyses.
  • Ensure all chemical handling and disposal processes comply with local environmental regulations and OSHA safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to establish process parameters for new PCB designs such as high-density interconnects (HDI) and high-frequency boards.
  • Maintain operational control within the work area as per organizational guidelines and carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science is required.
  • Preferably at least five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with related responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and trends is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with quality and process management tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills to effectively drive initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
