Role Overview
We are seeking a Checkout Operator to join our team. This role is excellent for individuals aspiring to develop their skills within a diverse and inclusive retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, direct customer service at the checkout counters.
- Process payments through cash and EFTPOS methods accurately.
- Assist customers with knowledge about our products and available services.
- Adhere strictly to regulations concerning the sale of age-restricted products like tobacco and alcohol.
- Support customers using self-service checkout terminals.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a solid understanding of effective customer service principles.
- Make customer-focused decisions aligned with company procedures and systems.
- Work collaboratively within a team and communicate clearly and effectively.
- Be prepared to remain on your feet throughout your shift.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanour to welcome customers.
Working Hours
The roster includes shifts such as:
- Monday: 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
- Tuesday: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Saturday: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
