Position Overview
A growing team is looking for dedicated individuals to become professional home inspectors. Candidates should be meticulous, well-spoken, personable, and professional, adhering to established procedures to deliver precise, thorough home inspections and detailed reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to inspection sites as required.
- Identify and suggest potential improvements and possible code violations.
- Conduct inspections of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Maintain daily logs, prepare detailed reports, and take photos documenting findings.
Inspectors must be familiar with basic residential home systems and components, be comfortable working in diverse weather conditions, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, entering crawl spaces and attics, and capable of standing extended periods. Proficiency with computers is essential for report writing and communication.
Remaining updated on company policies, industry standards, and continuously advancing technical understanding in building science is important. Punctuality, independence, and a strong work ethic are vital attributes. Compensation is reflective of experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years’ experience in construction, real estate, or home repairs.
- Solid knowledge of building codes, legal requirements, and regulations.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail combined with a positive disposition.
- Physical fitness to climb ladders, traverse roofs, enter crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long durations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to enter homes that may contain allergens such as pet dander, mold, dust, etc.
