Role Overview

This full-time, on-site technician position based in Wellington involves hands-on work at various customer locations. Responsibilities include cleaning carpets, upholstery, and rugs, operating cleaning and drying machinery, and assisting with water damage restoration tasks such as extraction, drying, and mitigation of impacted areas. Daily duties require evaluating damage, adhering to safety standards, moving furniture when necessary, and applying the appropriate cleaning treatments to carpets and other surfaces.

The technician will communicate clearly with customers by explaining services, offering basic maintenance advice, and accurately recording all completed tasks. This role demands readiness to respond to urgent or emergency situations, adapt to diverse environments, and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure prompt and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Knowledge or eagerness to learn water damage restoration techniques, including extraction, drying, and mitigation processes.
  • Skills in mitigation management, capable of identifying and treating moisture, mould, or contaminant-affected areas.
  • Strong communication abilities for professional interactions with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Physical capability to handle lifting equipment, moving furniture, and operating in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety procedures and company policies.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to service client locations across Wellington.
  • Previous experience in carpet cleaning, disaster restoration, or similar trades is advantageous but not mandatory; training is provided on the job.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on customer demand and emergency situations.
