About the Role

The City of Greater Bendigo, located in central Victoria on Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Country, is seeking a Business Growth Support Officer to assist local businesses in achieving success. Our region blends the advantages of a major city with a welcoming rural atmosphere, known for its vibrant food and wine culture, arts, heritage sites, and recreational amenities. The City provides over 65 essential services and aims to support a growing population approaching 200,000 by 2050. This full-time ongoing position offers the chance to actively contribute to business development within this thriving community.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for the City’s Business Help Desk, offering prompt and accurate guidance to businesses on entrepreneurship, relocation, and expansion matters with a strong customer service orientation.
• Compile and distribute the fortnightly Business Matters Newsletter, incorporating valuable insights to educate and support the industry.
• Provide expert administrative assistance for activities such as the annual business survey, events program, and managing email inquiries.
• Maintain an industry engagement calendar to facilitate networking, collaboration, and data gathering.
• Assist with critical projects by tracking their progress, conducting research, and performing survey work.

• Possess advanced administrative capabilities and project management skills, with an eagerness to build a career in Economic Growth.
• Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a strong focus on customer service.
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills, adept at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Enjoy collaborating within a team environment and are passionate about supporting local businesses.
• Must be able to obtain a satisfactory police clearance.
