Job description
Overview
A prominent global payments company is looking for a Business Development Representative or Manager to promote and increase adoption of its digital acceptance solutions in New Zealand. This full-time role is based in Auckland CBD and offered as an 18-month contract with a hybrid work arrangement, preferring four days per week onsite. The position is available immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and pursue new business for digital acceptance products including Click to Pay, Network Tokenisation, and Authentication.
- Identify and evaluate potential merchant clients through research, cold outreach, and networking.
- Generate leads and schedule meetings to support development of the sales pipeline.
- Manage multiple sales opportunities concurrently, advancing prospects through different stages of the sales cycle.
- Collaborate with local account teams to enhance merchant engagement with digital products.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects with consistent follow-up activities.
- Monitor and report on performance using key sales metrics and KPIs.
- Handle the complete sales process, including prospecting and finalizing commercial agreements.
- Work closely with teams in Australia to share market knowledge and best practices.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of professional experience in sales or business development, preferably related to payments, retail, or acquiring sectors.
- Proven capability to establish and nurture relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
- Technical pre-sales experience complemented by solid understanding of payment systems.
- Adept at handling multiple sales opportunities simultaneously at various pipeline stages.
- Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and internal.
- Self-driven and proactive in pursuing business growth initiatives.
- Open to travel throughout New Zealand as required.
Additional Information
This role is a contract position based in Auckland with a hybrid working model requiring four days per week onsite. The employer prefers candidates to start as soon as possible.
