Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive the outbound sales pipeline, generating over £2 million in qualified pipeline annually through focused outreach, events, networking, referrals, and partnerships within the UK legal market.
- Develop and refine an outbound sales playbook specifically for the UK, experimenting and optimizing strategies over time.
- Precisely qualify prospective clients aligned with our ideal customer profile, ensuring Account Executives receive highly convertible opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives to ensure smooth lead handovers and continuously enhance lead quality based on deal feedback.
- Establish and expand your network throughout UK law firms, representing the company at industry events and forums.
- Regularly track and analyze pipeline metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to the Sales Director.
Success Metrics
- Achieve an annual pipeline quota of £2,000,000 in Business Development Manager sourced Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), subject to annual evaluation.
- Generate £800,000 annual quota in closed-won ARR attributable to BDM efforts.
- Onboard and understand outbound sales and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) within 30 days.
- Establish a clear outbound strategy for the UK within 60 days.
- Achieve a £250,000 sales pipeline within the first 90 days.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience generating high-quality outbound pipeline in competitive B2B SaaS environments, focusing on deals that close rather than just activity volume.
- Strong understanding of the legal sector, including how law firms make purchasing decisions.
- Sharp commercial judgment, able to swiftly evaluate prospect potential and act decisively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of gaining credibility with senior stakeholders like Managing Partners, Operations Directors, and CFOs.
- Proficient with Salesforce, Outreach.io, or similar sales tools, with a rapid learning curve.
- Highly organized and self-driven, capable of working autonomously without close supervision.
- Preferably experienced in selling to UK law firms or professional services, with an existing network in the UK legal market.
- Familiarity with establishing an outbound function or crafting a sales playbook from the ground up is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary ranging between £60,000 and £70,000.
- On-target earnings (OTE) projected between £110,000 and £120,000, with uncapped commission above targets.
