Role Overview
This full-time, Monday-to-Friday role based in Christchurch involves managing the South Island territory to identify new business avenues, execute growth strategies, and cultivate enduring customer relationships. As a Business Development Manager, you will engage with a collaborative and experienced team to deliver impactful sales results.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of your territory, focusing on increasing revenue and gross profit via a strategic sales plan.
- Identify and pursue new leads while expanding and maintaining a strong client base within key industry sectors.
- Establish and nurture lasting, trust-based relationships with customers at varying organizational levels, ensuring an exceptional customer experience through consistent visits.
- Serve as the primary contact for major projects, tenders, and supplier agreements from initial opportunity through to successful execution.
- Track sales performance metrics, analyze outcomes, and drive continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide excellent service, swiftly address issues, and enhance customer partnerships while maintaining high service standards and satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven sales experience focused on driving business growth within the construction and infrastructure industries.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational tiers.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with effective planning and time management.
- A commercially driven mindset with confidence managing the entire sales process, from lead generation to account expansion.
- Self-driven and flexible, with capacity to operate autonomously and utilize CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) to oversee pipelines and performance.
