Role Overview
The Business Development Manager at GMG's Food division plays a pivotal role in driving expansion across the MEA region. This position entails identifying growth prospects, conducting detailed market research, and fostering strategic partnerships and distributor relationships to enhance market penetration and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a comprehensive business development plan targeting MEA markets, focusing on market entry and establishing key partnerships and distribution networks.
- Lead detailed market study projects analyzing competition, consumer behaviors, and compliance requirements to tailor GMG's approach effectively.
- Establish and sustain strong connections with international clients, negotiate contracts and terms to align with profitability and growth objectives.
- Work collaboratively with marketing, supply chain, and product development teams to adapt offerings to diverse market demands.
- Oversee sales forecasting, set revenue objectives, and monitor performance metrics for consistent target achievement.
- Spot new opportunities for products and services, refine pricing policies, and facilitate product launches within MEA.
- Present the business effectively at industry events and trade shows, enhancing brand recognition.
- Analyze sales data and KPIs regularly, preparing comprehensive reports to assist senior management decision-making.
- Mentor and manage team members by setting clear goals, providing guidance, fostering skill enhancement, and applying structured performance evaluation to boost operational effectiveness.
Required Expertise and Skills
- Strong business and financial insight with acumen in logistics and distribution management.
- Proficient use of CRM systems and excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Deep understanding of the MEA markets and international market intelligence.
- Competent in data analysis, reporting, project management, as well as export and regulatory affairs.
- Experience working with ERP or SAP software platforms.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of 10 years in sales or business development roles, with at least 3 years focusing on the MEA region.
