Business Analyst

About the Role

Kelly® Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom (SETT) is seeking a Business Analyst for a hybrid contract position based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This assignment is initially set for six months until the end of the year with the possibility of an extension. The role requires collaboration primarily during Eastern Standard Time hours and offers an hourly compensation of $50, depending on experience, under a W2 employment arrangement.

Role Summary and Responsibilities

• Facilitate discovery sessions by coordinating with stakeholders across clinical, R&D, operational, product, and technology domains to gather needs, clarify objectives and document present workflows and capabilities.
• Transform ambiguous business concepts and early-stage platform goals into precise business requirements, process outlines, and decision criteria.
• Analyze existing legacy systems and workflows to identify dependencies, potential gaps, risks, and opportunities for future improvements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive requirements documentation including business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
• Document interaction points and data flows for integrations across clinical platforms and enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Workday, and data marketplaces.
• Create visual artifacts including process maps, workflow diagrams, data logic tables, and traceability matrices to ensure alignment between business and technical teams.
• Convert approved requirements into detailed Jira backlog items suitable for refinement, estimation, and technical handoff.
• Support governance activities such as milestone reviews by maintaining traceability logs, business rule documentation, decision logs, and data definitions.
• Ensure well-organized and version-controlled documentation within collaboration platforms like Confluence.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years of business analysis experience, ideally within contract, consulting, or project environments requiring quick onboarding and independent task management.
• Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and process mapping tools such as Lucidchart or Visio.
• Experience in digital products, data platforms, clinical, healthcare, MedTech, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors.
• Capability to document complex requirements for data-intensive analytics platforms, workflow systems, enterprise integrations, or operational tools.
• Familiarity with regulated industry standards such as GxP, HIPAA, SaMD, privacy protocols, validation processes, compliance, or quality system regulations is highly desirable.
• Excellent written communication skills to distill complex discussions into clear, organized, and precise documentation.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement abilities to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas including business, clinical, product, and engineering teams.
• Analytical strengths to relate business workflows, data flows, user needs, and system functionalities into structured future-state requirements.
