About the Role

Join Sodexo at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, as a full-time Baker responsible for crafting a wide variety of baked goods including breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, cakes, and pastries. This position requires adherence to Sodexo's culinary standards to guarantee the highest quality in taste and presentation, contributing to excellent guest satisfaction.

Work Schedule and Location

Work shifts vary with a preference for availability throughout days and hours. Detailed schedules will be discussed during the interview.

Key Duties

• Follow daily production plans and Sodexo recipes to prepare assorted bakery items from scratch.
• Precisely measure ingredients, mix doughs and batters manually or with mixers, shape, cut, and bake products to optimal standards.
• Manage oven temperatures and baking durations, ensuring products are prepared, maintained, and served at proper temperatures.
• Prepare and stock the bakery workspace, uphold strict storage procedures such as rotation, labeling, and dating, maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the baking area.
• Focus intently on detail, fulfill special requests, and guarantee only top-quality baked goods are served.
• Engage in significant walking and use of hands for various tasks, including feeling, handling, reaching, tasting, or smelling.
• Maintain physical fitness to stand or walk for entire shifts, often exceeding 8 hours, with abilities to bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Be punctual and reliable in attending scheduled shifts.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned, varying by account and client needs.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or comparable experience.
• Experience ranging from none to one year in related bakery or pastry roles is preferred.
• Specific experience in specialized bakery or pastry preparation is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
