Role Overview

This role involves advancing software quality through comprehensive testing practices, integrating both manual and automated approaches alongside a multitude of testing tools and frameworks to maintain high standards. The candidate will work closely with QA and development teams to create robust automated tests focusing on user interface and functionality. Operating within an Agile environment leveraging SCRUM and SAFe methodologies, the candidate will contribute to quality assurance efforts throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Champion software quality by performing detailed manual and automated tests using a variety of tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional QA and development teams to craft automated tests targeting UI and application functionality.
• Enhance your testing skills by adopting best practices, refining scripting proficiency, and ensuring comprehensive test coverage and maintainability.
• Participate actively in an Agile setup utilizing SCRUM and SAFe to deliver quality projects efficiently.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Proficient in QA practices for web applications developed using modern frameworks, including strong experience in manual and automated testing.
• Expertise with automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, BDD frameworks like Cucumber, and alternatives like Cypress, Playwright, Robot Framework, or WebdriverIO.
• Capable of end-to-end integration and system testing covering APIs, UI, microservices, and data workflows while evaluating cross-module and service dependencies.
• Programming skills in languages such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python, alongside the use of test frameworks (TestNG, PyTest) and design patterns including Page Object Model.
• Experience testing APIs using Postman, Swagger, and RestAssured; knowledgeable about HTTP requests/responses, status codes, JSON/XML structures, and validating payloads.
• Skilled in designing test cases from user stories and acceptance criteria for both manual and automated scenarios, with experience in test management tools like JIRA, Zephyr, and X-Ray.
• Analytical thinker proficient in identifying edge cases, conducting root cause analysis, and resolving automation issues covering functionality, performance, usability, integration, and data accuracy.
• Familiarity with security concepts such as OWASP Top 10 and API security (authentication, tokens) and experience with performance testing tools like JMeter.
• Advantageous skills include knowledge of Git workflows, Docker/Kubernetes, microservices architectures, UNIX commands, and leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity.
• Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration within diverse, multicultural teams.
