Role Overview
Lake Excavating Ltd. is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Technologist to enhance our expanding team. The position offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $45 to $55 based on experience, alongside remote worker benefits such as location-based LOA of $55 to $155 and shift allowances up to $400 each way. Certain projects provide camp accommodations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings for Condition Assessment Reports, design, and construction working plans.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and budget forecasts.
- Conduct site inspections for progress evaluation and as-built measurements to inform design adjustments.
- Interpret construction drawings, surveying data, and GPS information effectively.
Requirements
- Must reside in Western Canada.
- Pass a mandatory pre-access drug screening and complete a respiratory fit test.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and good communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or Adobe Photoshop is advantageous.
- Meticulous data gathering and precise calculation skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and proactive teamwork.
- Possession of Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable transportation and a clean Drivers Abstract.
- Completion of Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) prior to start, with reassessment as needed.
- Capability to work in adverse weather and physically handle loads up to 50 lbs.
- Experience preferably in industrial, civil, or mining sectors with a solid work history.
- Positive interaction skills with colleagues and supervisors.
- Eagerness to learn and improve skills through training.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and maintenance standards, including accurate log completion.
