Role Overview
This full-time position is based on-site in Negril and entails supporting the General Manager in daily business operations. The Assistant to the General Manager is responsible for a variety of administrative duties including scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining records. The role ensures effective communication flow between internal departments and external partners. Daily activities involve answering and routing phone calls, managing documentation and files, preparing reports, and assisting both guests and staff with inquiries. Additional tasks include assisting the General Manager with executive and clerical functions, organizing meetings, and aiding in the implementation of operational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in administrative and executive support with experience aiding managers or senior leadership.
- Strong telephone communication skills and professional phone etiquette to manage inquiries and represent the firm positively.
- Competency in clerical tasks such as document handling, data input, filing, and basic recordkeeping.
- Familiarity with standard office software like word processors, spreadsheets, and email, alongside an aptitude for learning new tools.
- Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective time management, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize assignments.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Negril and engage collaboratively within a diverse team, maintaining a professional and customer-focused demeanor.
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry or customer service roles is advantageous.
- At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education or training in business or administration is welcomed.
