Opportunity Overview
This is a leadership role with a globally exporting manufacturing business that is in the middle of modernising its operations technology. The position sits at the heart of the company’s digital transformation and offers the chance to influence how OT applications are shaped, supported, and governed across a regulated, audit-ready environment.
You will guide the next stage of manufacturing digitalisation, including the evaluation and deployment of a new SCADA platform. The role has a broad remit across strategy, governance, implementation, and ongoing operational support, with direct responsibility for service quality and business continuity.
Key Focus Areas
- Lead the modernisation of operations technology within a manufacturing setting.
- Drive the selection and rollout of a new SCADA solution.
- Define and progress the OT applications roadmap for regulated, GxP-aligned environments.
- Take ownership of service performance across incidents, problems, patching, vendor coordination, SLAs, and uptime.
- Establish a practical OT governance model and integrate it into day-to-day business operations.
Experience and Background Sought
The ideal candidate will bring more than 10 years of experience in regulated sectors such as pharma, food, energy, finance, or a comparable environment. You should also have at least 5 years of leadership experience in technology or OT, with a record of building strong teams and guiding complex operational programmes.
Strong capability in IT service operations is essential, including incident management, problem management, change control, patching, and supplier oversight. Experience with OT delivery initiatives such as SCADA or MES is highly relevant, and exposure to PLCs will be an advantage. Familiarity with ITIL and/or GAMP is preferred, along with excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills.
What Is On Offer
- A senior, high-impact role at the centre of a major digital transformation programme.
- Influence across strategy, governance, implementation, and business-as-usual operations.
- A strong benefits offering, including wellbeing support and professional development focus.
- An Auckland-based opportunity with an organisation investing significantly in modern manufacturing capability.
- Applications from overseas candidates may be considered, with support or visa pathways available for the right person.
