Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Analytical Development Chemist to contribute to our growing team based in Castlebar. The role involves developing and validating analytical methodologies, transferring these methods, and performing chemical analysis on trial products. This position offers growth opportunities within a progressive and expanding organization focused on innovation and leadership in kidney care and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and validate new analytical techniques and transfer methods for emerging product lines.
• Draft and perform validations of analytical methods and instruments.
• Conduct chemical testing of experimental product batches.
• Troubleshoot instruments and manage related investigations.
• Prepare batch documentation and critically review laboratory data and protocols.
• Manage projects in Analytical Development Chemistry to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Develop and revise product specifications and procedural documents.
• Coordinate laboratory activities using the company's Enterprise Management System and through project board meetings.
• Oversee lab report and protocol approval.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and equipment in proper working condition.
• Ensure the Analytical Development lab adheres to compliance standards.
• Support the upkeep of quality assurance programs and laboratory procedures.
• Communicate development activities to management and R&D centers across US, Europe, and with third-party collaborators.
• Organize Analytical Development Chemistry lab tasks in alignment with global, European, and local initiatives.
• Participate in R&D project meetings and teleconferences.
• Contribute to evolving best practices in product development chemistry.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• At least 6 months experience with HPLC techniques is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments within the plant and larger organization.
• Flexibility to work diverse shift patterns to support manufacturing schedules.
• Relevant experience in pharmaceutical environments.
