Role Overview

As an AI Engineer, you will develop production systems capable of comprehending extensive technical documents such as chip design specifications and converting them into functional code. Your work will include weekly delivery of customer-facing enhancements and innovation in AI for hardware through reinforcement learning, agentic coding, and high-quality software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead AI projects from ideation to deployment and continuous enhancement.
• Develop LLM-driven solutions to interpret complex technical documents.
• Design and manage multi-modal, multi-agent systems using reinforcement learning for autonomous code generation and tool utilization.
• Implement production-grade solutions addressing performance issues such as latency, variability, and error recovery at scale.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate AI features effectively within the platform.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and define best practices for AI development.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated success delivering production AI applications involving language models, with a preference for document understanding and agent-driven workflows.
• Strong software engineering background including experience in distributed systems and maintaining production-quality code.
• Proficiency in Python and contemporary machine learning frameworks like PyTorch and Hugging Face transformers.
• Experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and deployment of large language models.
• Skills in managing, cleaning, and preprocessing extensive and diverse datasets.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex AI topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Track record deploying AI systems in mission-critical or sensitive production settings.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for scaling AI infrastructure.
• Research or practical experience with LLM agents, various reinforcement learning techniques including RLHF/RLAIF, constrained decoding, or program synthesis.
• Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or related publications.
• Competence in balancing pioneering innovation with reliability and operational pragmatism.

Compensation and Benefits

• Estimated base salary ranges between $200,000 and $300,000, depending on location, role, skills, and experience.
