Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist for a 12-month fixed term contract based in Galway, Ireland. This role reports directly to the EMEA AP Manager and involves managing Accounts Payable processes across multiple legal entities operating in various jurisdictions. This opportunity sits within a high-tech software company experiencing rapid global expansion.

Job Responsibilities
- Match vendor invoices with corresponding purchase orders or packing slips to ensure accuracy.
- Input vendor invoices into the Oracle Accounts Payable system efficiently and accurately.
- Identify, verify, and rectify discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and delivery documents.
- Liaise with vendors and purchasers to clarify errors or resolve payment issues.
- Assemble invoices for payment runs, supporting cheque and EFT transactions.
- Execute accounts payable cheque runs and electronic funds transfer payment batches.
- Generate accounts payable reports and diligently maintain all relevant document files.
- Prepare analyses and monthly reconciliations of accounts payable as required by management.
- Provide support across other accounting functions and contribute to special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent blend of education and relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience working within international and multicultural business environments.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English communication skills; knowledge of major European languages is advantageous.
- Strong communication abilities coupled with teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with Oracle or comparable ERP systems.
