Role Overview
This Accountant position, based onsite in Doha, Qatar, involves managing core financial processes including daily transactions, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. The role requires preparing financial reports and statements, assisting with budgets and forecasts, and ensuring adherence to local accounting principles and internal policies. Additional responsibilities include cash flow oversight, audit support, maintaining accurate records, and working with other departments to provide relevant financial insights that drive business decisions.
Candidate Qualifications
- Proficiency in managing general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Experienced in financial reporting and analysis, including monthly and annual statement preparation, variance analysis, and budgeting support.
- Skilled with accounting software and spreadsheet tools, ensuring precise data entry and keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with accounting standards, tax laws, and compliance regulations specific to Qatar or the GCC region.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce setting.
- Effective communicator able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional accounting certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA) are advantageous.
- Previous experience in retail or e-commerce accounting and understanding of inventory and cost of goods sold processes is beneficial.
