Role Overview

The Finance team invites detail-focused and high-achieving Accountants to maintain precise financial records, assist with close processes, analyze variances, perform reconciliations, and enhance operational workflows that support SpaceX's ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and variance assessments
• Handle areas including inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, or other specialized accounting functions as assigned
• Compile divisional balance sheet reconciliations monthly, quarterly, and yearly
• Work collaboratively with accounting colleagues to nurture a positive team environment
• Engage with stakeholders across Tax, FP&A, Financial Reporting, and business units to create and deploy effective solutions for smooth operations
• Coordinate with auditors to provide timely and accurate documentation as requested
• Undertake additional analysis and duties assigned by leadership
• Maintain adherence to US GAAP standards, company policies, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities for process automation and continual improvements aligned with best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in accounting, finance, business, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years professional accounting experience
• CPA certification or equivalent regarded as an advantage

• Excellent technical proficiency, analytical capabilities, and effective written and verbal communication
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel

• Basic knowledge of SQL and comprehensive understanding of US GAAP principles

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends during critical periods
• This job is based in Hawthorne, California; on-site presence is mandatory, and remote work is not an option

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges by level are:

• Level 1: $85,000 to $115,000 annually
• Level 2: $100,000 to $140,000 annually

Actual salary is determined individually based on expertise, education, and experience. The base pay represents part of a comprehensive rewards package including long-term incentives (company stock or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, discounted stock purchases, and access to broad medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k), disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, various employee discounts, around 3 weeks paid vacation, 10+ paid holidays annually, and paid sick leave accruing per company policy and in compliance with legal requirements.

ITAR Compliance

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees under 8 U.S.C. 1157, asylees under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or eligible to obtain authorizations from the U.S. Department of State to meet U.S. export regulations.
