About the internship

Swift Robotics Private Limited is hiring a Junior 2D Artist intern to help shape the visual personality of a new consumer robotics platform. The role centers on creating expressive facial motion and eye behaviors that make the device feel engaging, friendly, and responsive.

You will work with engineering and design teams to convert emotional cues into polished 2D vector animations that perform well on a digital product. This opportunity is well suited to students or recent graduates in Animation, Illustration, Digital Art, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.

What you will do

Your work will involve building a library of animated expressions and motion assets that reflect the product’s character and improve the user experience.

• Design a range of facial expressions and eye animations such as joy, curiosity, confusion, blinking, and sleep states.
• Create smooth 2D character motion for digital screens, paying attention to timing, squash and stretch, and fluid transitions between emotional states.
• Prepare and organize optimized delivery files, including spritesheets, vector assets, and Lottie/JSON layers, so the software team can integrate them easily.
• Work with hardware and software teams to test animation behavior on the physical device and refine the results according to real-world constraints.
• Keep the animation style consistent with the character’s overall personality and visual identity.
• Contribute ideas that strengthen the overall user experience through expressive motion design.

Eligibility

This remote internship is open only to applicants who can work from home, can begin between 4 July 2026 and 8 August 2026, and can commit to the full 6-month duration.

Requirements

• Applicants should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree or diploma in 2D Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related subject, or have an equivalent portfolio.
• Hands-on ability with 2D animation and vector tools such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Animate, or Spine.
• Understanding of core animation principles including timing, spacing, anticipation, easing, and squash and stretch.
• Willingness to learn how animation assets are adapted for hardware products, different screen sizes, and varying frame rates.
• A strong portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates expressive character animation, clean linework, and effective motion language.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain design ideas clearly.
• Bonus familiarity with Lottie, Bodymovin, or exporting animations for web/mobile use.
• Interest in robotics, human-computer interaction, or smart home technology is a plus.
• Basic understanding of state machines or interactive animation logic is an added advantage.

Additional details
