Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and overseeing standards related to worker welfare throughout project locations, including labor housing and associated amenities.
- Perform routine welfare inspections focusing on accommodation, cleanliness, food safety, transportation means, leisure zones, and overall living conditions.
- Guarantee adherence to UAE Labour Law, MOHRE guidelines, client mandates, and internal company welfare standards.
- Collaborate with client officials during welfare inspections and audits, ensuring prompt follow-up on observations and corrective measures.
- Handle worker complaints and welfare issues by coordinating with HR, Health & Safety teams, project staff, camp supervisors, and subcontractors to facilitate resolutions.
- Support initiatives such as worker orientations, welfare awareness campaigns, engagement programs, and forums to promote wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate documentation including welfare records, inspection findings, grievance tracking, audit files, and reports for management review.
- Foster a secure, respectful, and diverse work environment catering to a multicultural labor force.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Have 3 to 5 years of experience in worker welfare, labor welfare, camp welfare, or employee relations within the UAE's construction sector.
- Proven background working directly with blue-collar, multicultural labor groups across project sites and accommodations.
- Experienced in conducting welfare inspections, assisting in client audits, drafting reports, and tracking corrective actions.
- Familiarity with UAE Labour Law, MOHRE regulations, labor accommodation guidelines, grievance handling protocols, and welfare standards.
- Capable of preparing inspection summaries, compliance trackers, basic data analyses, and management presentations utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of document management systems, HRMS, or digital inspection tools is beneficial.
- Proficiency in English mandatory; knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic is advantageous.
- Preferably holds a UAE driving license with readiness to visit project sites, labor accommodations, and worker facilities as necessary.
