About the company
Bully Pulpit International is a results-driven agency bringing together strategists, data scientists, and creatives. With roots in politics, brands, and government, the team focuses on clear communication and on measuring what truly matters. The company has 400+ employees across six countries and 13 offices, including Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, D.C., London, Los Angeles, New York, Oslo, San Francisco, and Zürich. Its work spans strategic communications, public affairs, research, and digital marketing for American and European clients.
Role impact
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing team and create video that competes at a global level. The role is suited to someone who lives and breathes social video and wants to produce work that helps both major brands and mission-led organizations driving meaningful social change in the US.
What you will do
- Plan, film, and edit short-form and longer scripted social videos from concept through delivery, including editing, audio work, color work, and graphic enhancement, with an emphasis on content designed for specific platforms and current trends.
- Cut digital commercial spots for brands and advocacy-focused organizations.
- Work closely with creative directors, copywriters, and strategists to ensure content supports the intended goals while contributing your own creative perspective.
- Collect, structure, and maintain production assets such as scripts, brand references, stock footage, music, and other media files.
- Prepare equipment and remote recording setups before shoots.
- Take ownership of the full production process, including producing, directing, shooting, interviewing, and editing as a single operator.
Experience and requirements
The right candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience making video content, preferably in a communications agency setting, and should bring a portfolio of creative, visually polished, social-first work that feels current and original. You should know how to tell stories with strong pacing, rhythm, visual selection, and emotional impact rather than simply assembling clips. Hands-on experience with every stage of production is expected, including logistics, filming with professional gear such as Blackmagic, Alexa, and RED cameras, as well as iPhones, interviewing people on set, and editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. The role also calls for a collaborative mindset, curiosity, and the ability to keep learning and improving. Additional advantage points go to candidates who have worked in fast-moving digital news settings such as Vice or Vox. This position requires travel roughly 40% to 50% of the time, flexibility across multiple markets, and the ability to work under tight and shifting deadlines with limited supervision. You should be comfortable traveling alone, recording interviews, producing same-day selects, making first-pass edits quickly, and directing a range of on-camera participants, from executives and clinicians to community members and other non-professional talent. Strong real-time judgment is needed to spot social content opportunities while in the field, and you should be able to organize footage and hand off polished first-pass edits for internal post teams when needed. Experience using a variety of capture setups, from cinema cameras to mirrorless, mobile, and creator-style tools, is also important.
Preferred strengths
Motion graphics, audio editing, and color correction experience would be helpful.
Benefits
U.S.-based employees receive a broad benefits package that includes company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer matching up to 4%, generous vacation time, a $50 monthly phone reimbursement, unlimited sick leave, and 16 weeks of paid leave for new parents.
Equal opportunity and inclusion
The employer is an equal opportunity organization and evaluates applicants on merit and commitment to excellence. Hiring decisions are made without regard to protected characteristics under federal, state, or local law, including race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, or criminal history where permitted by law. The company also encourages candidates whose experience does not match every listed qualification to still apply, and it emphasizes inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and belonging across the workplace.
Additional information
The organization notes that it works across multiple markets in the US and Europe and has offices in several major cities. It also encourages prospective candidates to stay connected through its social channels.
