Company Overview
Faeth Therapeutics is a Nasdaq-listed clinical-stage oncology firm that recently secured $200 million in funding. With a robust scientific base and a founding team member who discovered the target pathway, the company is progressing PIKTOR, a multi-node PI3K/AKT/mTOR inhibitor program, toward several upcoming critical milestones. The team is compact and focused, emphasizing individual impact and a culture of care, innovation, and continuous learning.
Role Summary
The Vice President of Program Management will serve as the operational linchpin connecting all departments involved in the pipeline, including finance, legal, regulatory, clinical development and operations, CMC, nonclinical, and more. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position ensures seamless program integration, visibility of timelines and risks, and facilitates well-prepared decisions to advance programs. The primary focus, about 80%, will center on the lead program PIKTOR, with expectations to expand oversight as the portfolio grows. This role leverages AI tools extensively to optimize operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a unified, authoritative integrated program plan detailing timelines, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths across functions, primarily for PIKTOR and eventually the broader portfolio.
- Provide proactive updates and early warnings on potential roadblocks or timeline shifts to executive leadership, ensuring they are prepared rather than reactive.
- Create and manage the governance framework including team cadences, stage gates, decision rights, and escalation strategies to streamline strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to anticipate and prepare for strategic decisions, supporting the CEO and executive leadership with decision-making materials and strategic guidance.
- Utilize AI extensively to minimize manual efforts in integrating timelines, reporting status, and facilitating cross-functional communication; innovate communication tools and dashboards to keep company-wide alignment on risk and schedule.
- Manage program budgets, resources, and vendor coordination alongside finance and clinical operations teams, ensuring financial and timeline alignment for informed trade-offs.
- Lead business development diligence internally by coordinating cross-functional contributions, ensuring preparedness and coherence in data presented for partnership discussions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and execution through influence and credibility rather than direct authority.
- Support preparation of board and investor materials related to programs and oversee accuracy of externally communicated timelines.
- Establish the program management standards, tools, templates, and operating rhythms to scale organizational processes.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in drug development within biotech or pharma, with significant program or portfolio management exposure. Proven track record of leading programs through late-stage development and commercial approval, oncology background preferred.
- Deep understanding of integrated drug development processes spanning clinical, regulatory, nonclinical, CMC, legal, and finance functions.
- Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence C-suite executives without formal authority, balancing strategic leadership with decisive execution.
- Proficiency and frequent use of AI tools to enhance program management efficiency, including designing dashboards and reporting systems.
- Exceptional skills in communication, facilitation, and making complex information accessible and actionable for senior leadership.
- Experience in business development support, diligence processes, alliance or partnership management is advantageous.
- Thrives in fast-paced, small-team environments characterized by ambiguity and collaboration, with a strong focus on meticulous execution.
- Experience producing materials for board or investor engagement is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range from $270,000 to $350,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
- Equity participation in a well-funded clinical-stage biotech company.
- Fully remote work within the United States with flexible scheduling.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees and dependents.
- Flexible paid time off and generous parental leave.
- Traditional and Roth 401(k) retirement plans.
- A mission-driven, remote-first organizational culture.
