Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Vehicle Tracking & Technical Support Technician will be responsible for installing, setting up, and maintaining GPS vehicle tracking hardware and software across client fleets to ensure dependable and accurate system performance. The role also includes monitoring device and system health, identifying faults, troubleshooting issues, and delivering practical support for tracking equipment, networks, and related tools. In addition, the technician will handle customer support queries, walk users through technical fixes, record issue details, escalate complex matters when needed, and work with the operations and training teams to support fleet analytics, improve systems, and help clients use tracking technology effectively.
Requirements
- Solid experience or capability in technical support and troubleshooting for vehicle tracking hardware and software.
- Ability to support printers and other peripheral devices used in fleet or office environments.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly and professionally.
- Working understanding of networking basics, GPS/telematics systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Prior exposure to fleet management, automotive electronics, or IT support environments is preferred.
- Good problem-solving ability, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A technical diploma or degree in IT, electronics, telecommunications, or a similar field is preferred, though relevant hands-on experience may be accepted instead.
- Must be willing to work on site, travel to client premises when needed, and hold a valid driver’s licence.
