About the Role
The Valuer for Gold Loans is responsible for ensuring precise and trustworthy valuation of gold collateral across bank branches nationwide. This position demands evaluating gold purity, aiding loan disbursal, performing stock audits, and educating branch personnel. Maintaining high ethical conduct, confidentiality, and compliance are essential while supporting customer growth and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute gold loan valuations using approved standardized procedures and tools.
- Assess the purity and quality of gold pledged as collateral.
- Ensure loans are disbursed within prescribed turnaround times to maintain efficiency.
- Conduct stock audits and appraisal activities at nearby branch locations.
- Monitor overdue loan cases and assist branches in managing portfolio quality.
- Provide training programs to branch staff on valuation protocols and fraud prevention.
- Maintain transparency, avoiding any conflicts of interest in all dealings.
- Perform customer reference verifications professionally.
- Protect client confidentiality and prevent the sharing of sensitive information with competitors.
- Strictly follow organizational policies, safeguarding proprietary information.
- Ensure security of company assets entrusted for role duties.
Additionally, collaborate with internal departments for effective valuation operations, assist marketing and customer initiatives, and participate in any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate degree in any discipline is preferred.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in gold valuation or related roles within retail banking or the financial services sector, particularly the BFSI industry.
Skills and Traits
- Comprehensive understanding of gold purity measurement and appraisal techniques.
- High ethical standards with a strong sense of confidentiality.
- Effective communication and training capabilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and operate in on-field environments.

Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
