Job Overview

As a Layout Technologist, you will lead the detailed planning and execution of equipment relocations by partnering with operations, logistics, and vendors. Your role ensures that fabrication layout drawings accurately correspond to site locations, facilitating smooth installation and supporting factory ramp-up schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform site evaluations with key participants such as Tool Owners and Facilities teams before equipment move-ins to verify feasibility and readiness.
• Assess movement paths for equipment, including first-time installations, ensuring safe and viable routes within the fab environment.
• Carry out datum marking and validation activities guaranteeing correct alignment with layout and installation needs.
• Manage placement of furniture, safety apparatus, and temporary staging areas inside the fabrication facility.
• Coordinate equipment move-in and move-out operations in collaboration with contractors.
• Promptly report any tool layout challenges or onsite issues to Layout Engineers for resolution.
• Incorporate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily tasks to boost efficiency, quality, and effectiveness while adhering to compliance and organizational policies.
• Champion continuous improvement by scouting, evaluating, and sharing AI-based enhancements within your responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Engineering diploma required.

Essential Technical Skills

• Ability and willingness to work on-site regularly within both cleanroom and non-cleanroom settings, adhering to required safety attire such as smocks and PPE.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Competency in troubleshooting basic problems and conducting root cause analysis.
• Fundamental digital fluency and appropriate AI literacy to responsibly apply AI-enabled tools for tasks like research, analysis, content development, problem solving, and operational processes.

Key Soft Skills

• Capability to operate independently with accountability for assigned duties.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills in a dynamic, on-site environment.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork orientation.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder and contractor engagement.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial.
• Flexibility and responsiveness in addressing diverse on-site issues with practical solutions.
• Foundational skills in data extraction, evaluation, and reporting to support operations.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor equipment, fabrication processes, and manufacturing workflows.
