Technician, Telecom (Maintenance)

Role overview

ADNOC Group is hiring a Technician, Telecom (Maintenance) to support the reliability and integrity of telecom equipment and systems within the Upstream Directorate, NEB Operations, Maintenance function. This is a limited-contract role at grade 08-11, approved as a critical position with high urgency and confidentiality.

What you will do

The role focuses on keeping telecom assets healthy through routine inspections, scheduled preventive work, condition checks, and corrective maintenance carried out in line with standard operating procedures. The technician will also respond promptly to assigned work requests and work orders from the Telecom Engineer.

In the first 6 to 12 months, the incumbent is expected to take ownership of maintenance planning and execution for telecom systems, including diagnosing equipment failures or breakdowns, performing root cause analysis, and proposing suitable corrective actions in coordination with the Telecom Engineer and other relevant stakeholders.

Team and reporting structure

The position sits under the Upstream Directorate / NEB Operations / Maintenance and reports to the Team Leader, Maintenance (IC / Telecom).

Candidate profile

This opportunity is intended for UAE Nationals only. The hiring team is looking for a background in instrument and control maintenance or similar technical roles with exposure to broadband, broadcast, network, telephony, and CCTV systems.

Systems and areas of experience

Experience in maintenance and operation of the following systems is relevant: broadband systems such as SDH and WDSM, broadcast systems including PAGA, network systems, telephony systems, and surveillance CCTV systems.

Preferred technical capabilities

Useful capabilities for this role include budget preparation, SAP ERP usage, section progress reporting, material management, risk assessment, HSE management, root cause analysis, management of change, and participation in project activities.

Qualification

A technical diploma in a relevant discipline is preferred. A secondary school certificate combined with a vocational trade certificate is also acceptable.

Screening focus

Shortlisting will likely consider whether the candidate has around 5 years of telecom technician experience, troubleshooting exposure to SDH, DWDM, CCTV, PAGA, and network systems, oil and gas field experience, and experience managing telecom maintenance activities.
