About the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP)
The SC3DP provides comprehensive additive manufacturing solutions encompassing design, infrastructure, production, and validation. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as topology optimization, generative design, and bioinspired concepts, SC3DP produces optimized products with a wide array of innovative materials and printing techniques including hybrid methods, post-processing, and emerging technologies.
Prioritizing sustainability, SC3DP integrates artificial intelligence, big data, and digital tools to optimize processes and performs non-destructive testing on additive manufacturing components. Supported by expert personnel and equipped with advanced equipment, SC3DP leads research and development in sustainable additive manufacturing.
Role Overview
The incumbent will be instrumental in delivering technical expertise at an operational level to faculty, researchers, and students within the Centre while upholding laboratory safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventories of both regulated and unregulated materials.
- Confirm procurement processes and receipt of controlled items.
- Liaise with suppliers of equipment, chemical, and materials to ensure compliance with legal and safety mandates.
- Conduct chemical verifications and enforce radiation safety protocols per regulations.
- Support management of hazardous substances such as metallic powders, chemicals, nanomaterials, and materials related to additive manufacturing and secondary procedures.
- Assist in document control and support effective communication within the research community.
- Facilitate safety inspections and audits, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
- Manage access protocols for office and laboratory spaces.
- Ensure all laboratory operations conform to national and university safety regulations and occupational health standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with 1 to 3 years of relevant research environment experience.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Knowledgeable in managing chemicals, radiation, and hazardous materials.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, diligent, and able to work autonomously.
- Capable of performing effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Collaborative team player with a service-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrates a positive approach to learning, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
