Technical Director - Dance & Performance Flooring Systems

Position Overview

Harlequin Group, a leading global provider of flooring systems for dance, theater, events, broadcasting, and entertainment venues, is seeking a Technical Director. This leadership role requires managing technical support, product development, and innovation across their international operations. The position reports directly to the CEO and requires collaboration with sales, project management, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to maintain top-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical support to global sales and project teams from initial inquiry through installation.
• Create technical solutions, including specifications and drawings, tailored to project requirements.
• Assist with pricing strategies, cost estimates, and cost optimization.
• Support site inspections, quality checks, and installation problem-solving.
• Lead technical input on specialized and complex project tasks.
• Drive product innovation particularly in vinyl flooring, sprung floors, and stage systems.
• Oversee product testing, compliance, and certification processes.
• Contribute to supplier selection, procurement, and quality enhancement activities.
• Investigate technical issues and manage customer complaints effectively.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, installation manuals, and product data sheets.

Candidate Profile

• At least eight years of leadership experience in a technical role.
• Strong expertise in commercial flooring, PVC flooring systems, or engineered wood products.
• Proficiency in CAD design and creating technical specifications.
• Good commercial acumen supporting project bids and execution.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
• Willingness to undertake international travel as needed.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written, as it is the corporate language.
• Familiarity with CRM and ERP software systems.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in theatre, entertainment, or specialized flooring sectors.
• Knowledge of acoustics, structural floor systems, or stage construction.
• Awareness of sustainability and environmental standards.
