Sustainability & Environment Manager

Overview

The Sustainability & Environment Manager at Nammos Resort AMAALA in Al Wajh, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia is tasked with developing and managing the resort's sustainability, environmental, and ESG efforts. The role aims to ensure operations align with environmental responsibility, brand principles, guest expectations, legal regulations, and international sustainability benchmarks. It supports reducing the resort's ecological footprint, promoting responsible luxury, fostering staff engagement, and advancing the property’s long-term environmental and social ambitions.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, environmental management, engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Between five to eight years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or ESG roles, ideally within luxury hospitality, tourism, or large-scale operational settings.
• In-depth understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks, and certification standards such as LEED, EarthCheck, Green Globe, and ISO 14001.
• Experience with programs covering energy, water, waste, and biodiversity management.
• Proven track record managing sustainability projects and collaborating across multiple departments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills, adeptness in reporting, and problem-solving orientation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the resort’s sustainability and environmental strategy aligned with brand and business goals.
• Lead initiatives aimed at boosting energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and ethical sourcing.
• Embed sustainability values throughout all departments and operations.
• Ensure adherence to local, national, and international environmental laws and regulations.
• Monitor environmental risks, design mitigation plans, and coordinate with regulators, auditors, and consultants.
• Track and analyze energy, water, and waste data; identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Implement systems to measure environmental KPIs and monitor performance metrics.
• Lead audits and certification efforts, including LEED, EarthCheck, and Green Globe.
• Prepare sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, and management dashboards.
• Support corporate sustainability reporting requirements.
• Encourage colleague engagement by promoting awareness programs and environmental training with HR and learning departments.
• Foster a culture of environmental accountability across the resort.
• Support guest sustainability initiatives enhancing the luxury experience.
• Engage with local communities, suppliers, and partners on social and environmental projects, including conservation and biodiversity efforts.
• Stay current with emerging sustainability trends and technologies to innovate and improve environmental performance.
• Continuously refine sustainability programs to meet evolving standards and enhance guest satisfaction.
