About the Role
Tesla is advancing the global shift towards sustainable energy. We are searching for motivated and innovative professionals ready to contribute to transforming transportation and energy sectors at our Berlin Gigafactory. This role is ideal for someone accustomed to fast-paced environments and passionate about industrial innovation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key liaison between the Berlin facility and the global electronics sourcing team based in the US, ensuring aligned communication and sourcing strategies.
- Manage the electronics supply chain end-to-end including planning, procurement, execution, and performance tracking, to guarantee reliability and cost control.
- Drive local sourcing initiatives aimed at building supply resilience, cutting lead times, and supporting regional operational targets.
- Oversee supplier relationship management, including performance evaluations, risk analysis, escalation handling, and resolving supplier issues proactively.
- Lead crisis management efforts to quickly resolve supply disruptions and maintain continuous production.
- Collaborate across engineering, production, quality, and procurement to enhance processes and implement supply chain best practices.
- Formulate and implement supply chain strategies reflecting Tesla’s business goals and supporting rapid production scale-up.
- Leverage data analytics and metrics to track supply chain performance, spot improvement opportunities, and take corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least five years’ experience managing complex, global supply chains, especially in electronics or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
- Extensive knowledge of electronics supply chain dynamics, sourcing, and supplier risk management.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing high-stakes supplier relationships globally; mentoring junior SCM professionals as needed.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a record of handling supplier escalations and crisis resolution effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills; fluent in English with strong German language skills highly valued.
- Ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-moving environment managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Commitment to sustainability, adhering to Tesla’s Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security policies, and promoting continuous environmental improvements in line with EMAS standards.
